Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Where did the chords in this compilation come from?

They came from a variety of sources, including Phillip J. Facoline's "Ultimate Guitar Chord Chart II". Additionally, a number of common barre (or bar) chord patterns were expanded over a full octave with a computer program. All of the chord patterns were computer checked against the corresponding chord name. Chords that included invalid notes were corrected or discarded. Chords that were missing a few required or optional notes were not discarded, but the missing note(s) are flagged with a red zero in the Notes table.

Why do I have to adjust the scroll bars to see the chord pattern?

The screen display is comprised of 4 frames, which appear as a single display without scroll bars, provided your video display resolution is 1024x768 pixels or higher. If you use a lower display resolution, such as 800x600, the scroll bars will appear.

What is the best way to print a chord pattern?

There are two ways that work well:

  1. Select the desired chord representation with the chord names links and the Next/Previous buttons (if present).
  2. Left click on the fingerboard picture (to select that frame).
  3. Select File > Print (Internet Explorer); or File > Print Frame (Netscape).
  4. If using Internet Explorer, select "Only the selected frame" radio button on the pop-up menu.
  5. Left click on the pop-up menu "OK" button.
